Harry Potter Day

*dances* YAY! I have Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince!!

Ahem. Anyways. Yes, have book. Anna and I met around 10am this morning, made our way to Dymocks and picked up our books. I'm not sure how many people were there for the actual release time, but it was awfully quiet when Anna and I got there. In the bookstore one moment, Harry Potter books in our hands the next, and out the door. As Anna said, it was a bit anti-climactic, really.

We were both hungry so had a late brekkie at Blue Train, and were tempted to get our books out and read -- I was worried about getting my copy dirty with food though. We each needed to do some shopping things in the city, so wandered around the stores and did that. Lunch and coffee at the Hopetoun Tea Rooms; post-lunch coffee was coupled with reading of the first chappie (finally! and after careful brushing off of the table *g*). The reading time was filled with small giggles from both myself and Anna, and rude ladies who came to sit at the table next to us pointing out our books and having a conversation about it's release. It was raining when we left the Tea Rooms, so took that as our cue to go home. Managed another couple of chapters on the train.

And now, it's back to the reading. Thus far, am enjoying it muchly. Hopefully it stays that way. =)

eta, for reference: [info]hbp_chapters (chapter-by-chapter discussion of book).
